The legal profession can be filled with jargon. One of the strengths Janet provides her clients is that she breaks down complicated language so they know exactly what is happening, at all times. With a desire to fully understand the nature and intricacies of clients’ organizations, Janet develops focused solutions, appropriate to the circumstances.

Representative matters

Working with a diverse group of clients including corporations, insurers and health care organizations, some of the ways Janet has helped her clients are by:
  • Acting as co-counsel for an insurer at a commission of inquiry.
  • Advising regional health authorities regarding access to medical charts by both individuals and third parties. 
  • Advising organizations regarding compliance with the relevant privacy and access to information regulatory regime inclusive of preventing and responding to privacy breaches.
  • Acting as member of the defence team for regional health authorities in respect of class actions.
  • Acting as co-counsel to a mining company and successfully having all charges against the company under occupational health and safety legislation dismissed.
