Tackling demographics

Skilled labour shortages are a common challenge facing Nova Scotian employers these days. With an aging population, it’s a problem that will continue to get worse and means more and more employers will be looking for help from overseas to fill positions. Lana is helping clients overcome this challenge by acting for regional, national and international companies in the relocation and retention of foreign workers. Ideally suited for this area of work, Lana speaks three languages: English, French and Spanish.

Representative Work

A member of the firm's Labour & Employment group with a particular focus on immigration work, Lana's work includes:

  • Advising national and international companies on a variety of issues related to cross-border movement, such as transferring employees through specialized immigration streams
  • Assisting individuals in obtaining temporary entrance to Canada,  Canadian permanent residence and Canadian citizenship, including eligibility and admissibility assessments.
  • Strategizing with companies working in a wide range of industries on foreign worker recruitment, relocation, and retention.
