Representative matters

Balancing the desire to achieve an optimal litigation outcome against the need to maintain costs at a reasonable level is one of the challenges facing Jeff’s clients, which include retail firms, banks, trustees and receivers. Some examples of how he has helped his clients are:
  • Assisting in a multi-million dollar action in which a client’s former employees/shareholders alleged their dismissal was orchestrated to deprive them of the anticipated future value of their shares.
  • Assisting in insolvency proceedings in which a client successfully argued membership in a professional association is not “property” capable of passing to a trustee in bankruptcy upon insolvency.
  • Assisting in insolvency proceedings in which the client successfully established that it had converted a debenture into an interest in certain mining properties and successfully restrained the proposed sale of such properties under the CCAA.

Areas of practice:

  • Litigation
  • Litigation-Corporate/Commercial
  • Mechanics’ Liens
  • Insolvency – General
