Stewart McKelvey is pleased to welcome Richard Niedermayer to the firm’s Halifax office as Partner in the Corporate and Commercial and Tax groups. Richard has practiced since 1995 and focuses on private client work in the estates and trusts, tax and corporate/commercial areas.

An experienced practitioner and respected advisor to trust companies, charitable entities, incorporated professionals and owner-managed businesses in the areas of estate and tax planning, trusts, asset protection, charitable/planned giving and corporate and commercial matters, Richard holds a TEP designation from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia. He is a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, the Canadian Association of Gift Planners and the Canadian Tax Foundation. Richard is also the Chair of the Wills, Estates and Trusts section of the Canadian Bar Association, Nova Scotia branch. A native of Windsor, Nova Scotia, Richard is a past president of the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia and the Halifax Estate Planning Council.
