Stewart McKelvey has been recognized at the 2007 Burton Awards. The only Canadian organization to be rewarded in this year’s competition, the firm received an Honourable Mention in the Best Law Firm Compendium category for its in-depth comprehensive analysis entitled, Doing Business in Atlantic Canada.
The Burton Awards are legal writing awards administered on behalf of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). The awards are open to the 1,000 largest firms in North America and historically, have focused solely on US law firms.
“We’re obviously very pleased to receive this international distinction,” says Geoff Machum, Chair of the firm's Marketing Committee. “Given the number of entrants and caliber of competition, this award is especially gratifying.”
Doing Business in Atlantic Canada is a publication developed by Stewart McKelvey that looks at the business climate in the region. The document is available to clients and prospective clients on the firm’s website where it can be downloaded or requested on CD-ROM.
Stewart McKelvey is one of Canada's 15 largest law firms, with over 210 lawyers and 300 staff in six offices across the region.
