Articled Clerk Kyle DeYoung has been awarded the 2013 Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society’s Presidents' Leadership Award for his exemplary commitment to volunteerism and leadership. Further demonstrating that commitment, Kyle has also received the 2013 Dalhousie Student Impact Award for Top Dalhousie Student Union Council Member for his outstanding service to his constituents.
While earning his LLB and Masters of Health Administration from Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law, Kyle was a member of the OUTLAW Law Students Society where he managed social and networking events while advocating for LGBTQ law students. He has been the president of the Dalhousie Association of Graduate Students and a representative of the Dalhousie Commerce Society. Kyle’s commitment to community service extends beyond the reach of Dalhousie and includes having volunteered with Out of the Cold shelter, The Spot Youth Arts Initiative and the Halifax Community Health Board.
