: Deanne MacLeod Named as Leading Lawyer in Canada

Stewart McKelvey announced today that Deanne MacLeod has been named one of the leading lawyers under 40 in Canada. A Partner with the firm, MacLeod was included on Lexpert Magazine’s prestigious list of Rising Stars – Leading Lawyers Under 40. She received the honour at a gala dinner and awards presentation on November 12.

The annual list from Lexpert honours Canada's leading lawyers and corporate counsel under 40 and pays tribute to the rising stars of the legal community.

“Deanne is a talented corporate lawyer and it’s rewarding to see her recognized by a group of her peers," said Stewart McKelvey’s Chief Executive Officer, John Rogers, Q.C. "As a firm, we are honoured to have one of our lawyers identified as a leading practitioner in her field.”

Located in the Halifax office, MacLeod is Vice President of the Mount Saint Vincent Alumnae Association and a member of the Board of Governors of Mount Saint Vincent University. She has also previously donated her time as chair of the Board of Governors of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and director of the Better Business Bureau of the Maritime Provinces.

Stewart McKelvey is one of Canada’s 20 largest firms, with over 220 lawyers and 350 staff in six offices across the region.
