: John Rogers, QC named to Minister's Advisory Panel on District Health Authority Consolidation

July 8, 2014

On Friday, July 4, 2014, John Rogers, QC, CEO, was named to the Minister's Advisory Panel on District Health Authority Consolidation which will provide feedback and advice to the Nova Scotia Minister of Health and Wellness on health system consolidation.

After last year's election, health minister Leo Glavine announced that the 10 health boards throughout the province would be pared down to two. Glavine announced that this transition panel, comprised of nine members from across the province, will work over the next six months to provide input on the new health board merger. This will give a broader perspective for the merger transition team, and will assist in developing goals for these new health boards.

John joins this panel which includes representatives from the South Shore, Annapolis Valley, Richmond, Central Inverness and Pugwash. John is currently on the board of directors for United Way of Halifax Region and served as chair of the board of directors at the IWK Health Centre from 2009 to 2011.

Congratulations, John.
