From Nov. 22 – 24, 2013, over 300 delegates from 50 countries — including democratic leaders, policymakers, defense and security experts, and members of the media — convened in Halifax to discuss international relations and pressing security challenges at the fifth-annual Halifax International Security Forum.
Forum sessions focused on security issues faced by democratic nations in 2013, and emerging opportunities for 2014. Among the list of distinguished speakers was Partner John MacDonell, host of the Nov. 23 dinner session: “North Korea: What Do We Know,” with H.E. Baek Seung Joo, Vice Minister of National Defense, Republic of Korea; and Dr. Sue Mi Terry, Senior Research Scholar, Columbia University Weatherhead East Asian Institute.
