Ruth Trask

Partner

Minimizing present and future conflict.

Ruth takes a proactive approach in giving advice, looking down the road to ensure that her clients are best positioned for whatever might come their way. Sometimes the simplest approach is the best one, and clear communication goes a long way. Ruth knows the importance of managing expectations on both sides in successfully resolving a dispute of any kind, whether in litigation, grievance arbitration, or otherwise. Besides labour and employment law, Ruth practices:
  • Administrative law
  • Litigation and business disputes
  • Human rights and discrimination

Representative matters

Each client operates under a unique set of circumstances. Ruth works with her clients to understand their situation and tailors her advice to the client's needs, whether large or small. Her focus is always on providing practical advice, not only on the law, but how it affects her clients in their daily work. Some examples of how Ruth has achieved this are:

  • Structuring successful terminations, and advising clients how best to proceed if there is a wrongful dismissal claim;
  • Advising a professional disciplinary body on administrative law matters; and
  • Assisting clients in all aspects of the collective bargaining relationship.
