Sarah uses her experience in the litigation and regulatory spheres to provide sound and practical advice to her business and public sector clients. She gives clear and concise explanations of the regulatory and privacy requirements her clients may face in their business. She works to understand all areas of her clients' businesses and keeps up to date on legislative changes and proposed legislative reforms, so she can deliver the best service to her clients.

Representative matters

Sarah's practice focuses on regulatory opinions and advice, commercial contract review, agency work and privacy and access to information matters. In her privacy and access to information practice, Sarah acts for provincial public bodies, including universities, municipalities, health records custodians and private third parties with information that may be subject to an access to information request. In her regulatory practice, Sarah's clients include national and regional private sector companies looking to operate in Atlantic Canada. 

Her work has included:

  • Providing regulatory and risk management advice to businesses, specifically what licenses they require to operate in New Brunswick, and how they can maintain compliance with various legislative schemes, including requirements for the extension of consumer credit, direct and remote sales, consumer protection and consumer product safety, lobbyists' registration, financial services, mortgage brokers and co-operatives.
  • Review of commercial agreements.
  • Representing public and private sector clients in relation to access to information matters.
  • Providing advice on public and private sector privacy legislation, including compliance and information management.
  • Drafting and reviewing privacy policies, website and mobile application terms of use.
