June 4, 2008

Stewart McKelvey is proud to acknowledge that our Partner, Grant Machum, was appointed to the Board of Telefilm Canada, on May 16, 2008. The Honourable Josée Verner, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Status of Women and Official Languages, who announced the appointment said, “I am pleased that Mr. Machum has accepted this appointment. His legal experience will be a valuable asset for Telefilm Canada.”

As a life member of the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and as a member of such boards as the Atlantic Theatre Festival and the Prescott Group, Grant has given much of his time to enrich the lives of many Nova Scotians. Grant is based in our Halifax office, where he has built a diverse practice that focuses on labour and employment law, executive compensation, workplace human rights, litigation, workplace investigations and alternative dispute resolution among other areas.

His extensive legal experience and interest in arts and culture will serve him well on this prestigious board. Telefilm Canada is a federal crown corporation responsible for the development and promotion of Canadian film, television and new media production.

Congratulations Grant.
