: Partner Richard Niedermayer quoted in Canadian Living

February 10, 2014

Halifax-based partner and estate lawyer Richard Niedermayer, TEP, is cited in a recent article in the March 2014 edition of Canadian Living. The article entitled, "Estate Update" provides an outlook on the importance of revisiting and revising your personal documents regularly, including your will, power of attorney and insurance designations.

In this article, Niedermayer advises that without a will at the time of your death, provincial or territorial law will determine how assets will be distributed, which may not be consistent with your final wishes. He points out the importance of looking at your estate plan every three to five years or whenever life circumstances change.
