: Stewart McKelvey mourns the passing of Lynne M. Burnham, Q.C.

July 13, 2012

It is with great sadness that we advise that our dear friend and colleague Lynne M. Burnham, Q.C. has passed away.

Called to the New Brunswick Bar in 1976 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1999, Lynne’s extensive contributions to the firm and our profession will be everlasting. Widely acknowledged for her work in corporate and tax law, Lynne was a member and former Governor of the Canadian Tax Foundation. In 2009, she received Lexpert’s inaugural Zenith Award, recognizing leading women lawyers in Canada who have excelled in the practice of business law. Lynne was regarded as an able and gracious mentor whose wise counsel was sought not only by many of us within Stewart McKelvey but throughout the New Brunswick legal community.

We extend our deepest condolences to Lynne’s family. Her integrity, good humour and compassion will be greatly missed.
