Meaghan has a civil litigation practice with a focus in the areas of health, privacy and access to information, and life and disability insurance.

Meaghan defends healthcare organizations and professionals in medical malpractice claims. She also provides advices to healthcare organizations on various issues, including adverse event management and disclosure, statutory interpretation, and regulatory compliance.

Meaghan regularly advises public bodies and private entities regarding compliance with the relevant privacy and access to information regulatory regime. This includes advice regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information; assistance with responding to access to information requests and appeals; and guiding responses to privacy breaches.

Meaghan’s class actions practice has focused on complex privacy breach claims.

Meaghan has appeared at all levels of Court in Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Ontario Court of Appeal. She has also assisted clients with statutory review proceedings.
