Allison Whelan, LL.M (Tax) appointed Commissioner of Lobbyists
As announced this morning by the Honourable John Hogan, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, St. John’s partner Allison Whelan, LL.M (Tax) has been appointed as Commissioner of Lobbyists in Newfoundland and Labrador, for a five-year term. Allison takes over this role from LeeAnn Montgomery, who has held this position since 2005.
The Commissioner of Lobbyists is responsible for a number of tasks, including investigating possible violations of the applicable acts, regulations or codes, and keeping registration information confidential.
