Christa Brothers, QC, appointed judge of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia
Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, the Honourable Jody Wilson-Raybould, has announced that Christa Brothers, QC, will replace Mr. Justice A.W.D. Pickup in Nova Scotia’s Supreme Court.
For 20 years, Christa has been a leading member of the insurance defence bar and a commercial litigator, who has given of her time and talents to the legal profession and her community. She was a valued member of the Stewart McKelvey Partnership Board from 2013 to 2016, received her Queen’s Counsel designation in 2014, was Chair of the Complaints Investigation Committee of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society (“NSBS”) from 2014 to 2017 and appointed Second Vice President of NSBS this year. To support the community, Christa joined the Board of Directors of the Canada Games Centre in 2011 and is currently the Vice Chair of the Board.
