Erin Best facilitating workshop on intellectual property law for artists, musicians, filmmakers and authors
St. John’s associate Erin Best will speak at an upcoming intellectual property law session, as part of the Business & Arts Newfoundland & Labrador Business Workshop Series for Artists, Monday, February 29 at 1:00 p.m. local time.
For artists, musicians, writers and filmmakers, knowing the rights protected and monetized by law for your creations is an integral part of success. Within her presentation, Erin will review these rights and how they can be protected and leveraged by creators, as well as how to avoid infringing upon other original pieces. She will outline the basics of copyright, trademark, social media and entertainment law, and provide tips to keep in mind when dealing with issues in these areas.
