How to develop a culture of continuous improvement using Lean
Practice innovation partner Paul Saunders is featured in this month’s Canadian Lawyer, for his article, An Agile Approach to Legal Project Management – Part III: Lean.
In the final piece within a three-part series for this publication, Paul discusses how legal departments and law firms can identify and reduce waste while speeding up processes and maximizing client value, through the Lean framework. By mapping out the steps required to complete a particular process, teams can identify opportunities for improvement. Paul believes that one of the keys is to focus on what the client values, to ensure you are solving a problem that matters to them. “Start by having a conversation with your client, to learn what they really care about, and then develop metrics that establish a baseline that can be tracked over time,” he notes.
