Jennifer MacPherson discusses the legal community in Prince Edward Island with Canadian Lawyer
Charlottetown partner Jennifer MacPherson spoke to donalee Moulton about legal life in Prince Edward Island for the Canadian Lawyer article Eye on P.E.I.
With a relatively small legal community on the island, lawyers from different areas of the province often meet, both inside and outside of the office and the courtroom. “Reputation with other counsel is so important here,” says Jennifer, “you see them over and over.” A factor contributing to the collegiality among members of the P.E.I. bar is the fact that P.E.I. lawyers often work together on charitable and professional work. Jennifer also notes that, “we’re lucky because we have such a beautiful province and we can enjoy the lifestyle here, but we work hard.”
