Jennifer MacPherson & Level Chan celebrated by the Canadian Bar Association for extensive volunteer work
As part of National Volunteer Week, the Canadian Bar Association (“CBA”) National magazine website highlighted 11 individuals who are considered to be outstanding CBA volunteers. Among the 11, two Firm partners: Jennifer MacPherson, Charlottetown, and Level Chan, Halifax.
Within their respective interviews, both Jennifer and Level stated that the local and national connections they’ve made from volunteering with the CBA have been an unexpected, yet significant, part of the process. One take away from Jennifer’s experience is that she developed, “…a real appreciation for the way members of the bar and judiciary in PEI give so much of their time to organizations like the CBA.” While Level mentions that he’s continuing to work at increasing diversity within the CBA, he notes: “whether from different provinces, client perspectives, levels of experience or personal identities, the CBA has allowed me to learn from lawyers with a variety of backgrounds and helped me become a better lawyer.”
