Knowledge manager Cyndi Murphy named Canadian Association of Law Libraries Honoured Member
During the Canadian Association of Law Libraries (“CALL”) annual conference, Cyndi Murphy was the recipient of the Honoured Member Award for her many years of service and dedication to this organization and fellow legal information specialists.
This honoured membership is given to those who have made a significant contribution to advancing the profession of law librarianship. As outlined in various testimonials and letters of support by her colleagues, Cyndi was described as a vocal advocate for law libraries and librarians, a mentor, as well as a thoughtful and collaborative decision maker. “Cyndi Murphy is synonymous with service to CALL,” said Shaunna Mireau, director of knowledge management and process improvement at Field Law. Throughout her 35 years as a CALL member, Cyndi has been involved in planning and organizing a number of conferences and other learning events, and has continued to promote library services. She has been on CALL’s executive board twice, with her last role being president, and was integral in creating the Canadian Abridgment Editorial Advisory Board, where she served as a member during its fundamental years.
