Level Chan recognized as one of Lexpert’s Rising Stars

Halifax partner Level Chan received a Lexpert Rising Stars award last night at a gala dinner in Toronto, celebrating his recognition as a leading lawyer under 40. This award honours excellence in the field of business law and litigation across Canada.

From his Nova Scotia bar call in 2003 to present, Level has been a leader within Stewart McKelvey and the legal community at large. He is currently listed by Lexpert as a leader in pensions and employee benefits – an area he saw potential in, despite its complex and developing nature. Level was able to significantly grow the firms work in this area in the last three years. With experience in regional, national and international approaches to pension and benefits, executive compensation and labour and employment issues, Level is a trusted and knowledgeable advisor to clients and colleagues alike. He is an advocate for diversity and inclusion in the legal profession and the development of young lawyers and students, serving as both an informal and formal mentor to many.

Level has been an active and keen supporter of the Atlantic region and is very much involved in his community. From his current membership on the Halifax Chamber of Commerce board of directors, to being past vice-chair of FUSION Halifax and past president of the Dalhousie Alumni Association, Level ensures his voice is heard throughout the region to influence and inspire change. He was recognized by Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute Atlantic Region in 2015 as Volunteer of the Year and in 2010 was the recipient of the Canadian Bar Association Nova Scotia branch Zöe Odei Young Lawyers award.
