Mick Ryan, QC, appointed to Chair of Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada
Halifax partner Mick Ryan, QC, was recently named Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (“SDRCC”) Chair for a two-year term. The appointment was made by the Federal Minister for Sports and Mick is the first individual to fill this position from eastern Canada.
SDRCC assists Canadian athletes, including Olympians, and oversees a wide range of issues, including doping problems, access to safe sports and the protection of all involved throughout the country, whether they are working nationally or internationally. The organization educates the sport community about alternative dispute resolution and conflict prevention, which helps to resolve issues more efficiently and effectively. Mick has been involved with SDRCC since 2015, when he joined the board of directors as a member.
