New Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society committee roles for partner Sheree Conlon
Sheree Conlon, Halifax partner, has been appointed as the chair of the gender equity committee, as well as a member of the entity regulation and risk working group committee of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society (“NSBS”).
The gender equity committee oversees and provides advice on matters of gender in the legal profession. Committee members are responsible for promoting gender equity awareness in the legal profession and in relation to access to justice in Nova Scotia.
With the help of the entity regulation and risk working group committee, risk-focused, proactive, principled and proportional entity regulation framework is developed. Member responsibilities include recommending and following through on member and stakeholder approved risk consultations and engagement processes, as well as connecting with similar working groups and NSBS subcommittees as required.
