On Jan 16, the Canadian government signed a contract with Irving Shipbuilding Inc. for the design and construction of six Arctic Offshore Patrol Ships. This is the largest shipbuilding contract to be awarded in Canada in over 30 years and will result in a substantial benefit to the economy of Nova Scotia over the next few years. Stewart McKelvey assisted Irving Shipbuilding Inc. and its in-house legal team with this project.
On Dec. 1, 2014, Track Group purchased G2 Research for $4.6 million. The deal will lead to an expansion for G2 Research's Dartmouth office and opens new markets for its product. G2 Research, a local startup, developed advanced tracking software with applications in security and law enforcement. Stewart McKelvey acted for G2 Research with a team led by Jim Cruickshank.
