Charlottetown Partner Janet Clark receives Philippa Samworth Award for Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession

We are pleased to announce Charlottetown Partner Janet Clark, CPHR, as the 2022 recipient of the Philippa Samworth Award for Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession from Canadian Defence Lawyers (CDL).

With a practice focused on supporting insurers, professionals, employers and municipalities on a wide range of health, insurance and labour and employment issues, Janet is a leader in the practice of law.

This award, named in honour of a CDL founding member, recognizes individuals for distinguished service to women in the legal profession in Canada, by demonstrating:

  • A commitment to advocating for the inclusion and promotion of women in the legal profession through activity that has a visible, tangible, or measurable impact on the perception of attitude toward, and respect for the treatment of women; and fostering women’s initiatives and promoting positive mentoring relationships with other women in the legal profession; and/or
  • Leadership in the development of measures to fight gender discrimination and prejudice in the profession.
