Sheree Conlon & Candace Thomas appointed Queen’s Counsel

Halifax partners Sheree Conlon and Candace Thomas join 12 other lawyers in the province who have received a Queen’s Counsel designation for 2017, as announced by Justice Minister Diana Whalen. This recognition is given to those who demonstrate professional integrity and have made significant contributions to the practice of law as well as the community at large.

Sheree begun her varied commercial and insurance litigation practice in 1997, and is sought by clients because of her objectivity, guidance and good judgment. In addition to helping her clients with a wide range of issues, Sheree is an active member of the legal and local community. She currently sits on the Discovery Centre Board of Directors, is a council member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society and Chair of its Gender Equity Committee.

Called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2000, Candace provides strategic business law advice to clients engaged in a wide range of industries on various types of corporate-commercial matters. A co-chair of Stewart McKelvey’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Candace is also a member of the Dalhousie University Board of Governors, the East Preston Empowerment Academy Board of Directors and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society Hearing Committee.
