Stewart McKelvey named Firm of the Year – Atlantics for the fourth consecutive year

Stewart McKelvey is the only law firm in North America to have been named Firm of the Year by Benchmark for four years in a row and the only firm in Atlantic Canada to have received the award since its inception. The distinction is based on a thorough, four-month research period that includes interviews with litigators, peers and their clients.

“The depth and breadth of experience of the litigators at Stewart McKelvey, combined with their success rate on complex and precedent-setting matters have earned Stewart McKelvey Firm of the Year – Atlantics for the fourth year in a row,” said Jonathan McReynolds, Publisher, Benchmark.

Now in its ninth year globally, and fourth year in Atlantic Canada, Benchmark is the only publication to focus exclusively on the litigation and disputes market in North America and Mexico.

Stewart McKelvey’s litigation practice represents regional, national and international clients on corporate banking, securities, bankruptcy, municipal law, environmental law, construction, product liability, insurance, tax and intellectual property issues.

“We’re pleased to be recognized by Benchmark for our accomplished litigation practice,” said Lydia Bugden, CEO, Stewart McKelvey. “The firm has a strong and storied past and an equally as strong future ahead of us as we grow and change alongside our clients and bring practice innovation into the fold.”

Last year Stewart McKelvey announced its Practice Innovation Initiative, which uses state of the art client datasites, custom web applications, shared online workspaces, automated document assembly and certified legal project management to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve outcomes for litigation and business clients.

“The legal industry is undergoing an industrial revolution,” said Geoff Machum, QC, ICD.D, Chair, Stewart McKelvey Partnership Board. “Where matters – including litigation matters – are being unbundled and technology is being used to more efficiently create repetitive, predictable components. We have been leaders in this movement and are seeing tremendous value for our litigation clients.”

In addition to be named Firm of the Year – Atlantics, litigators at the firm have been named Litigation Stars and Future Stars.
