Halifax lawyer Sheree Conlon, QC, appointed to the Executive Committee of The Advocates’ Society

Congratulations to Halifax lawyer, Sheree Conlon, QC, on being appointed to the Executive Committee of The Advocates’ Society.

 

The Advocates’ Society (“Society”) serves as the voice of advocates within the justice system in Canada. It was created in 1963 to ensure the “presence of a courageous and independent bar, and the maintenance of the role of the advocate of the administration of justice.”

 

A member of the Society since 2017, and a Board member since 2019, Sheree has dedicated her time and litigation expertise to the Society in various leadership capacities, including serving as Director (2019 – Present); Chair, Standing Committee on Advocacy and Practice (2021 – Present); Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee (2019 – Present; Vice Chair 2020 – 2021); Member, Atlantic Regional Advisory Committee (2017 – Present); Vice Chair, National Standing Committee (2019 – 2021); and Collegiality, Mentoring and Membership Standing Committee (2019 – 2020). Both an instructor and active faculty member, Sheree has chaired and presented at various educational programs for the Society, and has worked to champion the Society in Atlantic Canada.

 

Sheree will be the Society’s first member of the Executive Committee whose practice is outside of Ontario.

 

Sheree is a Partner in the Halifax office with a practice in commercial litigation, insurance and alternative dispute resolution law. She has been recognized by Benchmark Canada, Lexpert and Best Lawyers for her excellence in litigation and insurance law.
