Stewart McKelvey appoints three new Managing Partners
We are pleased to announce the appointment of new Managing Partners in our St. John’s, Charlottetown and Fredericton offices, effective January 1, 2021. Managing Partners play a significant leadership role in our local offices, entrusted with the care of our lawyers and staff, as well as overseeing our client initiatives and community outreach.
Tauna Staniland will take over from Neil Jacobs, QC, who held the role of Managing Partner in the St. John’s office since 2015. After being engaged in strategic initiatives at a Firm-wide level as well as chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Corporate Practice Group, Tauna is invested in the growth of our Firm and its people.
In Charlottetown, Paul Kiley will be succeeded as Managing Partner by Murray Murphy, QC, CPHR. Murray has recently completed two terms on Stewart McKelvey’s Partnership Board, making for a seamless transition to this new role.
After working with former Fredericton Managing Partner Clarence Bennett in leading the office to a new building, Nicholas Russon will take on the role of Managing Partner in that office. Nick’s involvement in Firm-wide committees and initiatives, including on the regional Student Committee, will help him to move lawyers and staff forward. Clarence Bennett will remain Managing Partner of the Saint John office.
We extend our sincere thanks to Neil, Paul and Clarence for their dedication to their local offices over the past few years, and congratulate Tauna, Murray and Nick on their appointments.
